Today is a historic day for the domestic worker movement: the House of Representatives’ Education and Labor committee just held a hearing for the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, legislation that includes domestic workers in common workplace laws for the first time while creating new protections and stronger ways to enforce them.
While the hearing marks a HUGE step forward in moving the Bill to the House floor for a vote and winning critical legislation for domestic workers, we need to take action NOW to ensure that Congress acts with urgency to protect and respect domestic workers!
Take action TODAY by urging leadership to move the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights forward.
Together, we can achieve a vision for domestic workers that will fundamentally change the way we value the work of women, especially work performed by women of color.
